Initial Consultation and Treatment

The initial visit to Axis Chiropractic + Wellness will consist of a patient case history where the doctor will review your new patient forms, going over factors which may influence the primary reason for your visit. The doctor will then run a series of orthopedic and range-of-motion exams on the patient to help find the precise cause for the patient’s symptoms. X-rays may be required in some instances, such as after trauma or in cases where the patient’s condition is progressive or not responding to care. After the history and exams, the doctor will explain the treatment process to the patient and the initial treatment will then proceed. Time: 45 minutes to an hour

Follow-up and Subsequent Visits

The follow-up visit to Axis Chiropractic + Wellness consists of a report of findings for the patient, where the doctor explains any and all examination findings and provides a treatment plan for the patient, outlining expectations for recovery and possible therapies to add into the program to assist the patient in a speedy recovery (e.g. exercises and stretches; intersegmental traction, ultrasound, and gua sha; and lifestyle changes, including, but not limited to: diet, nutrition and posture/ergonomic factors contributing to the patient symptoms). Following the report of findings, the patient will receive the second treatment, which will reassess the primary region of concern or concerns in the patient, using advanced level Activator Methods procedures to relieve any remaining symptoms which may or may not have resolved during the initial treatment. Time: 20 to 30 minutes

Subsequent visits to Axis Chiropractic + Wellness will consist of treatment through chiropractic adjustments and, in some cases, additional forms of therapy, which may be required to help improve the patient’s recovery. We offer ultrasound, intersegmental traction, and gua sha to help speed recovery and diminish any lingering pain or discomfort. During all patient visits, patients will be asked about the status of their symptoms and given the opportunity to ask further questions regarding their health to help develop tools towards achieving a greater level of health and wellness. Time: 10 to 15 minutes
